Bayou Land Families Helping Families is the Family Voices State Affiliate Organization (SAO) and the Family-to-Family Health Information Center in Louisiana. We assist families of children and youth ages 0-26 with special health care needs, mental or behavioral issues, disabilities, and medical concerns.
Our office assists families of children with disabilities or special health care needs to develop into informed, empowered, self-sufficient advocates through our wide variety of programs as well as the depth of life experience and training of our staff.
There is no charge for the services we provide. We are funded by state and federal grants, as well as donations from community partners and supporters.
Louisisana Family Voices
“… keeping families at the center of children’s health care.”
Louisiana Family Voices is in a unique position to provide families with the knowledge and assistance they need to make informed choices that support their child’s health, education, and development. As parents of children with a disability or special health care needs, we personally have felt completely overwhelmed and confused in our search for information, services, and supports to meet the needs of our own families. We wish to extend our services to families who find themselves in this apprehensive situation. We hope to give families support and information that will make their means of access a bit easier.
